Dr Kendra Gilbert is a Chartered Counselling Psychologist and supervisor, qualified since 1999. She has worked for the last 20 years in the NHS, charitable sector, in private practice and in academia as the Programme Leader for a Professional Doctorate in Counselling Psychology. Kendra’s area of special interest adults who are experiencing acute and chronic physical health-related psychological difficulties, especially people affected by cancer. Her approach to psychological therapy for cancer includes, support with the psychological impact of diagnosis and treatment, managing change in personal and work relationships, changes in body image and functioning, and sexuality. In cases of remission, she helps clients navigate through the process of adjustment post treatment, including the challenges of adapting and returning to work. In addition to direct client work, Kendra offers individual and group supervision, consultation, and support for allied health professionals.
