The tests will be conducted either in your car, or our outside covered area to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff.
GOLD STANDARD PCR SWAB TEST- £150.00
This is a lab-based test with results within 24 to 48 hours. The test is a throat and nasal swab carried out at CMC by one of our Healthcare staff. This test is the most accurate test for diagnosis that you currently have Covid-19. The optimum time for the test is a minimum of 5 days after being in contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19 or from the onset of symptoms.
This test is accepted when taking a flight and we will provide you with a signed, valid certificate.
This test is recognised by the NHS and Public Health England (PHE).
RAPID ANTIGEN TESTING - £59.00
A rapid antigen test is a nasal swab test that can be carried out at our practice with results in as little as 15 minutes.
This is also a swab test and is manufactured by Roche. Although these are WHO recognised tests, they are no more than an indication that you are positive or negative for Covid-19. They are a useful guide if speed is the issue.
Certain countries will accept rapid antigen tests to board a flight. Please be sure before requesting this style of test before a flight or Eurostar.
This test should be carried out at a minimum of 5 days after being in contact with a person testing positive for Covid-19 or on the onset of symptoms. It can also be used for general convenience testing or maintenance testing e.g. in a work place.
PLEASE NOTE: In line with the Government guidelines, we strongly recommend you have a PCR swab test if you receive a positive result from a rapid antigen test.
ANTIBODY TESTING- £49.00
An antibody test is a blood test and measures whether there are antibodies in your system. This would be as a result of having had the Covid-19 virus previously. This blood test should be carried out at a minimum of 2 weeks after you have recovered from suspected Covid-19 symptoms.
This test is an Abbott’s test and is recognised by Public Health England.
